Space Apps Next Gen for the first time in Bangladesh

Innovation makes the possibility of implementation possible. Lack of thinking is the obstacle to proper tendency and application of our talents. Space Apps Nextgen was organized for the first time in Bangladesh, jointly organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Bangladesh Computer Council, and Bangladesh Innovation Forum, to help the young people of the country to adopt innovative thinking in the field of IT and implement these ideas.

Space Apps Next is a 36-hour hackathon moderated by the United States’ Second Muse organization. Although this is the first time in Bangladesh, this hackathon has been organized in five countries in the world. This international hackathon was held on January 27-28, 2017.

To solve various problems in the world including space-related issues, in all three different categories (1st-4th grade, 5th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade), students from all schools and colleges of Bangladesh could have submitted any Idea Project (through registration). A group of 2-4 students was formed. Later, on the basis of our experienced mentor panel’s decision, 50 teams of space apps have got the opportunity to participate in the final phase of NextGen. The program was inaugurated by Honorable State Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Junaid Ahmed Palak and former President of the Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Mustafa Jabbar awarded the winning teams at the concluding day.
